Mike VanDamia
completed his
Bachelor of Science degree
in Agricultural Business at
Northwest State University of Louisiana
with a minor in Equine Science. He has 30 years of riding
experience and 20 years of training experience, working most
with Arabians, Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, and Saddlebreds.
He also served as the Assistant Farm Manager of the Equine
Science Department at Northwest State University of Louisiana.
After completing his degrees, he worked and trained horses at
several facilities throughout the United States, including: Del
Acre Arabians (Natchitches, LA),
Heritage Hills Arabians (Lake Geneva, WI),
Dixieland Arabians (Eastover, SC),
Heritage Showcase Farm (Lake Geneva, WI), and Bayou Park Stables
(Houston, TX). He has a well-rounded background
in starting young horses under saddle and in driving.
Mike has
competed in English pleasure, park, hunter/jumper, driving,
mini-events, and dressage events held in Texas, Louisiana,
Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and
Iowa.
Mike continues to hone his own riding and training skills,
taking lessons and attending dressage and eventing clinics
taught by Charlotte Bailey, Francesca Nicoletti, David O’Brien,
and Jürgen E. Göhler.
